Palliative care seminar
Zagreb, April 30th 2018 – Church Dubrava in Zagreb opened its doors to a seminar on palliative care.
The seminar was intended for the doctors and medical staff but also for all interested church members. The seminar war organized by our organization together with the representative of the International Mission Board, Southern Convention, Eric Maroni because of the great need to raise awareness on the subject of end-of-life care.
The theme of the seminar was "Serving to individuals and families working in the end-of-life care". The guest speaker was Marsha Farrell, a registered nurse and a certified hospice and palliative care nurse, who is also the director of an end-of-life care and pain management consulting group registered in Madison, Alabama. She will also be speaking at the Third conference of palliative care in Pula, Croatia beginning of May this year.
Another guest at the seminar was Pastor MirĨe Manavski, who is a part of the palliative team for Pakrac and Lipik area in Croatia. Pastor Manavski talked about his experiences in the field of palliative care, education and cooperation with Medical University of Zagreb, and the association of nurses in palliative care. He was also part of the team that started a series of educational seminars about palliative care in Croatia, from Vukovar to Dubrovnik.
