Portable WIFI installed in Vučjak
Vučjak, Bosnia & Herzegovina, August 13th, 2019 – Portable WIFI installed in the refugee camp in Vučjak.
our organization in cooperation with the Swedish innovation company, Teleprodukte, and the local Red Cross, successfully enabled a portable WIFI transmitter for refugees and migrants living in the camp Vučjak.
The idea was developed by Mr. Daniel Rasberg and the owner of Teleprodukte, Mr. Andres Jonsson, who brought the idea to life by developing a portable WIFI transmitter for crisis situations. The transmitter draws power from solar panels and the local network, and provides users with access to the internet. The transmitter was successfully installed in the camp Vučjak.
Whether it is a displaced person living in a refugee camp or a local resident, the internet is a useful tool, and in refugee situations, often of crucial importance. Recognizing this global fact, humanitarians joined in with mobile and satellite operators to provide digital connection between the users and their families, as well as between the organizations providing aid. We believe that this internet connection will be useful for refugees and migrants to get in touch with their families. We are happy to be part of a small, but important contribution such as this.
