our organization Brings Relief to Churches in Zagreb, Karlovac and Velika Gorica after Earthquake and Coronavirus
Croatia, March 4th – 8th our organization, the humanitarian organization of the our founding partner has procured and delivered aid to churches in Karlovac, Zagreb and Velika Gorica, to help pastors continue to provide charity support to the most vulnerable groups in their context.
In cooperation with SEND International, our organization launched an emergency response project, providing, in its initial phase, food packages, hygiene items and psychological support together with pastors, who are in direct contact with the most vulnerable population. All with the purpose of strengthening capacities of local churches in their care for the marginalized and the vulnerable. Thanks to pastors and elders in the field, Ladislav Ružička, Mihal Kreko, Teofil Mršić, Danijel Čeh, Danko Tomanić, and our organization’s mobile teams who mapped the needs, procured and delivered packages, we have reached out to many of those most vulnerable, who rely on this kind of support in this time of crisis.
our organization has been strengthening capacities of local churches for many years, including in the most recent events, i.e. floods in Gunja, Rajevo Selo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014, as well as the refugee crisis 2015 – 2020, where we supported and partnered with churches in Slavonia, and their leadership through various charity and educational projects.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the government imposed restrictions that came about as a result of the pandemic, as well as the strongest earthquake to hit Zagreb since 1880, have made the life of those most vulnerable even more difficult. There are urgent needs to respond to. our organization’s mobile teams will continue working with the local churches and government structures, in order to provide the necessary aid and support long-term recovery efforts.
